Olympic Pictograms change for every games. Well, not necessarily the sports, but the way the symbols are drawn. Each host country has a chance to put its own spin on the images. These are the swimming images from the past several summer games. Water appears in each symbol, although, in the Barcelona games, the swimmers are ready to start above the water.The entire series of images has to be clear. There are so many people speaking so many different languages that the symbols need to do the work of all those languages. Clear, concise symbols help direct athletes, officials and spectators in the proper direction to the proper venue.
